Joe Antonacci is the kind of person who puts his heart and soul into everything he does. Majoring in accounting, finance and economics, he’s worked for a financial planner at Morgan Stanley Smith Barney and as an intern in the corporate tax department at Walgreen’s corporate offices in Deerfield, IL. This winter he interned with PricewaterhouseCoopers in corporate audits, working 70 hours a week while taking a night class.
“Audit season is definitely challenging,” he says. “I’m putting in a lot of hours including Saturdays but it’s worth it.”
During football season, Joe spends his Saturdays on the field. His numbers for 2010 included five touchdown receptions and he was team leader in all-purpose yardage. He was first team All-Conference as a return specialist in the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin, second team All-Region in NCCA Division III and a second team Academic All-District.
Joe spent a semester at a larger university before returning to the Naperville area where he went to high school. He’s enjoyed the academic, athletic and service opportunities at North Central. “I went on a Habitat for Humanity trip for athletes last spring and traveled to Guatemala with Students In Free Enterprise,” he says. “I was able to go on the trip last December after football finished in the playoffs. My professor made the reservation for me on Thanksgiving Day. You wouldn’t find that at a larger university.”
