Immerse yourself among new friends and fun activities while you experience Chicago culture or the beauty of northern Wisconsin. Make invaluable connections with faculty and staff.
New students can begin their college experience before North Central’s Welcome Week even begins with one of the multi-day Cardinal Camps. These off-campus excursions will help set you on course for a successful college journey. You’ll start classes as a confident, connected and committed Cardinal.
“Cardinal Camp was an amazing opportunity,” says William Noland, who attended the program at HoneyRock Camp in northern Wisconsin. “I had the chance to make new friends, plan for college and learn from a professor, all while enjoying the great outdoors.
”An urban immersion camp based in Chicago was led by Brian Rainville, director of ministry and service. The goal was to help students get acclimated to the city and its amenities. Participants completed a service project, toured neighborhoods and visited North Avenue Beach (pictured opposite page top right). “It’s important for students to know what incredible opportunities are available in Chicago and that we have a world-class city literally in our backyard,” he says.
For fall 2014, both camps will offer specialized tracks for students, based on their interests.
