Higher Learning Commission accreditation report praises North Central

North Central College has been approved for continued accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Assoc. of Colleges and Schools Board.

Sept. 20, 2010—The Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has approved the continued accreditation of North Central College, with the next comprehensive evaluation by the commission scheduled for a decade from now.

College reports record enrollment for fifth straight year

The College anticipates 888 new students fall term. Total enrollment is expected to be about 2,900, including about 2,600 undergraduate students.

Sept. 2, 2010—For the fifth straight year, a record number of students will attend North Central College.

The College anticipates 888 new students when fall term classes begin on Monday, Sept. 13. Total enrollment is expected to be about 2,900, including about 2,600 undergraduate students.

About two-thirds of new students are first-year students who graduated high school in 2010, while about 300 are students transferring from other schools. New students are coming to North Central from 17 states and 22 foreign countries.

Sept. 2, 2010— Photographs by Tom Gill showing modern scenes along the historic Illinois & Michigan Canal will be displayed Oct. 17 through Nov. 18 at North Central College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St.

Gill, of Tinley Park, will greet visitors at an opening reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 19.
