Jan. 5, 2011—Mixed media creations by artist Nancy Legner will be exhibited Feb. 9 through March 31 in North Central College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., Naperville.

The exhibit “Whimsical Chapters of a Secret World” is free and open to the public. The artist will greet visitors during an opening reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 13. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

Jan. 29, 2011—Saxophonist Richard Elliot, named Best Wind Player at the 2010 American Smooth Jazz Awards, performs April 2 in North Central College’s acoustically stunning Wentz Concert Hall.

With a best-selling discography of more than 15 recordings and thousands of live performances since his 1986 debut, Elliot claims one of the most loyal fan bases in contemporary urban jazz. He has had six albums reach No. 1 on Billboard’s new adult contemporary chart.

Jan. 24, 2011—North Central College presents an evening of jazz featuring the extraordinary talents of saxophonist Mitch Paliga, a member of the College’s acclaimed music faculty.

Paliga is an active performer, educator and composer in the Chicago area. According to Cadence Jazz Magazine, “Paliga is an interesting composer but he also may be the next great voice on the soprano sax.”
