A new residence hall on North Central College’s Naperville campus offers a dynamic, modern housing option for students.

As students moved into their digs on Sept. 11, they described New Hall as “grown up and mature … really roomy … spacious everywhere you look” with “fancy furnishings and fancy materials … beautiful views.” Located at 451 S. Brainard St., between Benedetti-Wehrli Stadium and the Ward Residence Hall, the five-story hall for 229 students offers suite-style housing for upperclass students.

The magazine profiles the top 650 of the nearly 2,500 four-year institutions of higher learning in the United States. For 2015 Forbes ranks North Central College No. 482 overall, No. 324 among private colleges and No. 113 in the Midwest.

North Central College is among just 86 institutions nationwide recognized in The Chronicle’s eighth annual report on The Academic Workplace. The recognition is based on results of surveys of more than 44,000 employees at 281 colleges and universities.

The 125,000-square-foot Science Center is being built on the west side of the 100 block of South Loomis Street, along the Sesquicentennial Walkway and south of Van Buren Avenue. The new facility was designed with additional classroom space to serve students of all academic disciplines.

North Central College celebrated Commencement with record number of graduates

North Central’s 150th Commencement celebrated a record 836 graduates, with presentations of special awards and address by President Emeritus Hal Wilde.

North Central College’s 150th Commencement celebration on June 13 featured many highlights. Among them were 836 students who received degrees, with 100 earning master’s degrees and a record 736 receiving bachelor’s degrees, including a record 41 who completed the College Scholars Honors Program.
