North Central College alumni land good jobs after graduation and experience a high return on their education investment, Forbes says in its 2015 America’s Top Colleges rankings.

For the fifth straight year Forbes includes North Central College among the top 20 percent of the nation’s colleges and universities. The magazine profiles the top 650 of the nearly 2,500 four-year institutions of higher learning in the United States. For 2015 Forbes ranks North Central College No. 482 overall, No. 324 among private colleges and No. 113 in the Midwest.

For the fourth time in five years, The Chronicle of Higher Education has named North Central College a “Great College To Work For.”

North Central College is among just 86 institutions nationwide recognized in The Chronicle’s eighth annual report on The Academic Workplace. The recognition is based on results of surveys of more than 44,000 employees at 281 colleges and universities.

The 125,000-square-foot Science Center is being built on the west side of the 100 block of South Loomis Street, along the Sesquicentennial Walkway and south of Van Buren Avenue. The new facility was designed with additional classroom space to serve students of all academic disciplines.

North Central College celebrated Commencement with record number of graduates

North Central’s 150th Commencement celebrated a record 836 graduates, with presentations of special awards and address by President Emeritus Hal Wilde.

North Central College’s 150th Commencement celebration on June 13 featured many highlights. Among them were 836 students who received degrees, with 100 earning master’s degrees and a record 736 receiving bachelor’s degrees, including a record 41 who completed the College Scholars Honors Program.

The latest Fulbright honors for Heidi Nelson ’15 of Carol Stream and Kristin Rose ’15 of Joliet are the 10th and 11th Fulbright awards earned by North Central College students and alumni. North Central College has been recognized as among the U.S. colleges and universities that produce the highest number of Fulbright recipients for 2014-2015 international exchanges.
