North Central College hosts several noted authors—some are also recognized actors, TV personalities and a musician—in partnership with Anderson’s Bookshops.

This fall, North Central College welcomes to campus several noted authors—some are also recognized actors and a musician—as part of the College’s partnership with Anderson’s Bookshops in Naperville. The authors will discuss and sign copies of their latest books.

The 2015 Military Friendly Schools list honors the top colleges, universities and trade schools that are doing the most to embrace America’s military service members and veterans as students. This is the third consecutive year North Central College has earned the recognition.

North Central College began the 2014-2015 academic year Sept. 15 with a near-record number of students.

Total enrollment is a near-record 2,800 undergraduates and 250 graduate students—3,050 total—eclipsing the 3,000 mark for the third straight year. The College welcomed 860 new full-time undergraduate students, up from 852 a year ago. That includes 580 first-year students, up from 529 a year ago. The 860 new undergraduates would be second only to the record-number 882 welcomed in fall 2010.

North Central launches new mobile app for students, campus community

North Central has launched its first mobile app, North Central College Mobile, giving users on-the-go access to campus information and resources.

North Central College student earns Naperville Police Department internship

Sociology: criminal justice major Samuel Carius ’15 has been selected for a five-month internship with the Naperville Police Department.

Samuel Carius ’15 is getting hands-on experience for a future career in law enforcement. A sociology: criminal justice major, Carius is participating in an internship with the Naperville Police Department (NPD) that began in August and will continue through December. He plans to pursue a career in law enforcement.

Entrepreneurs who have founded their own companies, senior leaders with major corporations and North Central College alumni are sharing their expertise to benefit the College’s graduate programs.

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is included in The Princeton Review’s college guide, “The Best 379 Colleges, 2015 Edition.” The guide surveys more than 130,000 college students nationwide to determine the top 15 percent of about 2,900 four-year institutions nationwide.

North Central College will showcase works by artist Dick Locher in an exhibit titled “Dick Locher: A Hometown Artist” presented by Naper Settlement Aug. 22 through Sept. 28.

The exhibit is free and open to the public in the College’s Schoenherr Gallery at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. An artist reception will be held from 5 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25; complimentary refreshments will be served.
