Cardinals host Softball Super Regional series May 16-17

North Central College hosts its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series vs. University of St. Thomas (Minn.) Friday & Saturday, May 16-17.

North Central College has been designated as the host site for its NCAA Division III Softball Championship Super Regional series against the 13th-ranked University of St. Thomas (Minn.) on Friday and Saturday, May 16-17.

All games in the best-of-three series will be played at North Central’s Shanower Family Field, 435 S. Loomis St. The first game will be played at 4 p.m. Friday, followed by a 1 p.m. start on Saturday. If a third game is necessary, it will be played at 3:30 p.m. Saturday.

Lou Groce ’11/M ’14, former graduate assistant to the sports information director, has landed a new job—one that’s perfectly suited for him.

Starting May 7, he’s the new director of media and information for the Midwest Conference (MWC), similar to the College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin (CCIW), but with 11 member institutions. He will handle all sports information duties for 20 sports among all the schools, manage the conference website and promote the MWC brand through various forms of written, visual and social media communications.

A former NCAA Division I player with coaching experience at the NCAA Division III, high school and club levels, Exline will spend the 2014-2015 academic year recruiting the team, which will take the court for North Central’s inaugural season in 2016.

Registration is open for 2014 summer camps and workshops

North Central College’s summer camps and workshops feature 95 opportunities for children and adults, ranging from athletics to fine arts to academics and more.

If you’ve been thinking about ways to enjoy summer this year, North Central College has opened registration for its summer camps and workshops for children and adults. Among the 95 opportunities are nine new camps, ranging from athletics to fine arts to academics and more.

Camps begin in early June and many run through July and early August. Some last several days and include meals and overnight accommodations, while some workshops may last a few hours. Fees vary, of course, depending on the length and type of camp or workshop.
