North Central will host a bookfair, including a story time and face painting for children, Saturday, Oct. 30, at Barnes & Noble, 47 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville.

North Central College will host a bookfair, including a story time and face painting for children, Saturday, Oct. 30, at Barnes & Noble, 47 E. Chicago Ave., Naperville. The event is free and open to the public.

Students from the College will be in the store’s Children’s Department leading a story time at 10:30 p.m. and doing face painting at 11 a.m.

North Central College has been approved for continued accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Assoc. of Colleges and Schools Board.

Sept. 20, 2010—The Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has approved the continued accreditation of North Central College, with the next comprehensive evaluation by the commission scheduled for a decade from now.

When purchased during the first two weeks of fall term, tickets for College fine & performing arts events held during fall term and December will be discounted 50 percent for North Central College faculty and staff. A few exclusions include Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Frankie Valli and The Four Seasons, and North Central music and theatre productions, which are covered by faculty and staff activity passes. Faculty and staff can buy an unlimited number of tickets for self and family members when purchased in person with your employee ID at the Fine Arts Center box office.


North Central College maps potential sites for new Science Center

This summer, the Naperville City Council approved a 10-year update to the College’s Master Land Use Plan.

Topping the list of potential projects that city staff, council members and the public reviewed is a new $40 million to $50 million science center that would replace Kroehler Science Center. The structure would be designed to foster a more interdisciplinary approach to teaching sciences, and the teaching facilities would be built to integrate classroom lectures and lab activities in the same space.
