Total enrollment stands at 3,048 undergraduate and graduate students, eclipsing the 3,000 mark for the second straight year. The College welcomed 852 new full-time undergraduate students. Enrollment this fall includes a record number of international students and increased representation of out-of-state students and veterans.

The Teacher Leader degree or endorsement is designed for teachers who have a professional education license and want to pursue additional leadership training and responsibilities. Educators who earn a Teacher Leader degree or endorsement may pursue positions as a mentor or coach, lead curriculum standards committees, serve as department or grade-level chairs, lead school improvement initiatives and serve on school leadership teams.

North Central College students will discuss their scholarly work Aug. 1 during the poster session of the 2013 Summer Undergraduate Research Colloquium (SURC).

The SURC poster session takes place from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1 in Smith Hall of Old Main, 30 N. Brainard St. (The session previously was scheduled to take place in Heininger Auditorium at the Larrance Academic Center). Most of the 40 students who participated in the 2013 SURC will be present.

North Central College student Anthony Schullo ’15 has been selected for a prestigious program that offers networking, mentoring and other opportunities for students who want to pursue careers as higher education administrators.

Schullo has been accepted into the 2013-2014 class of the Undergraduate Fellows Program of Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education, formerly known as the National Association of Student Personnel Administrators (NASPA).

“Where Do We Go From Here” was the topic of a July 23 forum sponsored by the DuPage County Branch of the NAACP and hosted by the College’s Office of Multicultural Affairs. Moderator Juan Thomas noted the title of the forum is the same as a 1967 speech and book by the Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
