The sports information office has published profiles about the next two inductees to North Central College’s Athletic Hall of Fame: Kris Kalivas ’98, who excelled on the basketball court and the softball field, and Dr. Ken Sanders, team physician to Cardinal student-athletes since 1976.

In the opening round of the NCAA Division III Softball Championships on May 13, the women’s softball team defeated Trine University (Ind.), 8-6. The Cardinals advance to take on fifth-ranked and top-seeded Ohio Northern University Friday, May 14, at 2 p.m. in Greencastle, Ind. In baseball, the CCIW Baseball Tournament begins Friday, May 14, at home in Zimmerman Stadium. The Cardinals take on Illinois Wesleyan University at 3 p.m. Competition continues Saturday and Sunday. It’s only March, but the Cardinals softball team’s offense has already hit its stride, averaging nine runs a contest over the March 19-21 weekend at the Tucson Invitational Games after winning five of six to open up the 2010 season.
