Students In Free Enterprise head to National Competition May 11-13 in Minneapolis. Seven students will give an oral presentation with streaming video as backdrop. View Episode 8 of the Mission Coffee Can series, which features SIFE students preparing for the April 8 regional competition. Congratulations to the team, which qualified for National Competition in Minneapolis, Minn., May 11-13. During the regional competition, the team gave a 24-minute, three-part presentation to a panel of judges consisting of lower to middle management professionals.

A few dozen North Central College students took advantage of a rare opportunity to hear "rock star" author Neil Gaiman ("Coraline," "Stardust") read from his book "American Gods" and answer questions about his Sandman comic series, having his works made into Hollywood movies and collaborating with other artists. Gaiman spoke at the Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) store at 100 E. Jefferson Ave. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, as part of his two-day Naperville Reads series of talks around town.

The viral premiere of the Mission Coffee Can series is finally here. Visit www.missioncoffeecan.com on Wednesday, Feb. 24, and view episode one of a video series about North Central Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE) who traveled to Guatemala and various U.S. cities to learn about growing and marketing coffee. New five- to 10-minute episodes will be available weekly for 14 weeks. As the students learned about coffee, they learned important lessons about themselves, the coffee community and sustainability.

A group of North Central College students are featured in a new video series about the coffee trade. The Mission Coffee Can series chronicles how North Central College students work with Guatemalan growers to sell their coffee in the United States. The premiere episode of Mission Coffee Can will debut online on Feb. 24. Visit the Mission Coffee Can site to watch a trailer about the series and to learn more about the project and its participants.

NCC's Best store, operated by members of Students In Free Enterprise (SIFE), is open for business Saturdays and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. The new store location at 100 E. Jefferson Ave. first opened to the public during the December holidays.  Its successful run led to the new weekend hours.
