John Madormo, assistant professor of broadcast communication and general manager of WONC-FM 89.1, took second place in the Comedy Division at the Chicago Screenwriters Network 2009 Midwest Screenwriting Contest for his screenplay, a comedy titled
The Boys' Club. It also reached the Semi-Finals of the 2009 Scriptapalooza International Screenplay Competition.
The Boys’ Club is about five retired widowers who meet each day for coffee, doughnuts and an endless discussion of minutia.
