Clark Teuscher, sports information director, had his article titled “An Evaluation of the Digital Media Guide” published in CoSIDA's E-Digest. A member of the CoSIDA (College Sports Information Directors of America) New Media/Technology Committee, Teuscher wrote about the North Central’s perspective on moving the sports media guides from a print to online format.

Cats, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that won seven Tony Awards and enjoyed nearly 7,500 performances during its Broadway run, will be performed this weekend by students in North Central’s theatre department. Actors will dance, sing and prowl across the Pfeiffer Hall stage for five performances, Nov. 5-8. Cats is directed and choreographed by Fine Arts Director Brian Lynch, who performed in the show’s third national tour during the 1980s. Professor of Music Jeordano Martinez gives musical direction. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov.

Greg Stolze M '03 wins first place in Tribune contest

Greg Stolze M ’03 won first place in the Chicago Tribune’s Great Chicago Ghost Story Contest. His entry “2122 North Clark” beat some 800 entries. Cultural critic Julia Keller said Stolze’s story is “beautifully written, and the story is told primarily through dialogue. Moreover, it's truly a Chicago ghost story. It simply couldn't be set anywhere else.

Late Thursday, Oct. 15, Illinois lawmakers restored scholarships for about 137,000 college students next semester, even though it's not clear where state government will find the money. The House and Senate voted to give $205 million to the Monetary Award Program, which helps needy students pay for college.
