Cast of 25 prowls Pfeiffer Hall stage in “Cats”

Cats, the Andrew Lloyd Webber musical that won seven Tony Awards and enjoyed nearly 7,500 performances during its Broadway run, will be performed this weekend by students in North Central’s theatre department. Actors will dance, sing and prowl across the Pfeiffer Hall stage for five performances, Nov. 5-8. Cats is directed and choreographed by Fine Arts Director Brian Lynch, who performed in the show’s third national tour during the 1980s. Professor of Music Jeordano Martinez gives musical direction. Showtimes are 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 5; 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov.

The campus community is invited to Oesterle Library from noon to 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 10, to celebrate the International Year of Discovery with the unveiling of NASA’s mural-sized images of the core of the Milky Way galaxy and to hear various presentations. This community-wide event is co-sponsored by the College’s mathematics department and Oesterle Library. Following is a schedule of activities: •    12 to 2 p.m.—Viewing of Galileo’s Dialogo.

The team has a 28-2 record against in-region opposition this season and is one of three CCIW teams to rank among the Midwest’s top eight squads. North Central travels to Carthage this weekend for the CCIW Tournament. More

REVISED: Members of the Hugo Wolf Quartett—who will perform in Wentz Concert Hall Friday, Oct. 30—will be featured Thursday afternoon in a live interview on WFMT-FM 98.7 classical radio. You’ll be treated to a performance preview and hear from the musicians themselves on the program “Impromptu” hosted by George Preston at 4 p.m. at 98.7 FM. Tickets are still available for the 8 p.m. concert in Wentz Concert Hall. Tickets for faculty and staff are $10/person.
