The North Central College football team traveled to Spain June 11-19 and posted an exhibition victory June 17, defeating the Spanish national team, 36-3, in the Barcelona Classic at the Estadi Municipal D'athletisme Joan Serrahima in Montjuic Park.

In addition to the game, North Central was afforded the opportunity to enjoy guided tours and opportunities to explore the culture of Spain. North Central also visited Italy in 2006 and Switzerland in 2009. More

The North Central College men’s program has captured the Al Carius Program of the Year Award honor for the third consecutive season. The United States Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association announced its Program of the Year award winners for NCAA Division III on May 30..

On Saturday, June 2, North Central College features a Flute Extravaganza and a Student Composer Showcase, both in Wentz Concert Hall. The Flute Extravaganza, featuring students from North Central’s Flute Choir and flute studio in solos and small chamber and large ensembles, takes the stage at 3 p.m. And at 7:30 p.m., a Student Composer Showcase will feature a concert of original chamber, solo and choral works by North Central student composers at 7:30 p.m. Admission to both events is free.

On Thursday, May 31, the North Central College Percussion Ensemble, directed by Lecturer in Music George Blanchet, with Percussion Soloist will present a percussion concert, titled “Batuque.” Held in Wentz Concert Hall, the percussion extravaganza will start at 7 p.m. Admission is free.

North Central College Cardinals finish fifth at nationals

The North Central College men’s track and field team took a large leap forward in the team standings at the end of the final day of the NCAA Division III Outdoor Championships on May 26, scoring 30 points in the final two events and winding up fifth in the 84-team field.
