North Central College will host a free lecture by Michael Hainey—author, writer and deputy editor of GQ magazine—at 7 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 24, in North Central’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St.

Hainey will discuss his newest book and New York Times Best Seller, “After Visiting Friends: A Son’s Story”—a heartrending portrait of a family and its legacy of secrets. Copies of his book will be available for purchase.

Feb. 8, 2012—North Central College is offering three new options in its Master of Arts in Liberal Studies (MALS) degree.

The College is incorporating three different programs to allow MALS students to pursue a specialty that suits their professional and personal interests.  The new program options are: Ethics and Public Service; Writing, Editing and Publishing; and Culture and Society.
