Nine faculty receive tenure, promotions

The North Central College Board of Trustees grants tenure, approves promotions to faculty members effective with the start of the 2014-2015 academic year.

At its May 2014 meeting, the North Central College Board of Trustees granted tenure and approved promotions to several faculty members effective with the start of the 2014-2015 academic year in September. These faculty are:

Diane Anstine, Ph.D., was promoted to professor of economics

Michael de Brauw, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of classics

Shereen Ilahi, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of history

Wendy Koenig, Ph.D., was granted tenure

Faculty gives lecture, leads discussion on India Nov. 11

Assistant Professor of History Shereen Ilahi will give a timely talk and lead a discussion related to India and global environmental change on Nov. 11.

One of North Central’s own faculty members, Assistant Professor of History Shereen Ilahi, will give a talk and lead a discussion related to India and global environmental change at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 11, in Meiley-Swallow Hall. Titled “The 1947 Partition of Punjab,” her timely lecture will focus on the creation of the sovereign states of Pakistan, Bangladesh and India and how the British drew the line in 1947 that partitioned the region of Punjab that borders India and Pakistan. The event is free.
