The final showing of the College’s Film Central series of independent films takes place Monday, May 16. An “Evening of Short Films” begins at 7:30 p.m. in Madden Theatre. Short and funny, the films feature interactive media studies major RJ McNichols ’11, as well as films from the Naperville Independent Film Festival and one from a collective of student filmmakers from Chicago. McNichols and actors from the other PG-13-rated short films will be available for Q&A afterward.



Guzman helps nominate Chicago Literary Hall of Fame inductees

Richard Guzman, professor of English and coordinator of master in liberal studies program, served as a nominator for the new Chicago Literary Hall of Fame.

Richard Guzman, professor of English and coordinator of master in liberal studies program, served on the Committee of Nominators and Selectors for the new Chicago Literary Hall of Fame, which held its first induction ceremony Nov. 20, hosted by the Chicago Writers Association at Northeastern University in Chicago. The ceremony drew together some of Chicago’s greatest writers to honor Saul Bellow, Lorraine Hansberry, Gwendolyn Brooks, Nelson Algren, Richard Wright and Studs Terkel.
