North Central College - Naperville, IL

President's message

It’s been a spectacular fall at North Central College! Homecoming was a special high point because I saw so many of you on campus. What a great opportunity to gather the College family together again and to remind ourselves how important our personal connections really are. I hope you will be able to attend next year’s celebration (October 16-19 is already marked on my calendar).

Technology: Finding the Right Balance

As Matt Burden considers his new role at North Central College, he wants to serve the many constituencies that are knocking on his door to discuss their technology needs and wants. The new assistant vice president and chief information officer joined the College in May, after 10 years in a similar role at Chicago’s Shedd Aquarium. But he also has experience in higher education settings and understands his role in equipping and training the campus community, a popular topic at a faculty retreat in September.

New reunions and treasured traditions

Like any close-knit family, the best memories are created during family reunions and by celebrating long-held traditions. Such was the case throughout Homecoming weekend, held October 24 to 27, as the North Central family gathered to reconnect.

Campus welcomes new faculty

North Central College appointed five new tenure-track faculty members for the 2013-2014 academic year:

Proud to be a member of the Class of 1963

Time flies when you’re having fun. That might be the motto of the Class of 1963, the latest North Central College graduating class to be inducted into the 50-Year Club at Homecoming.

Alumnus building new facility to court success

Robin Henders ’03, co-owner of Five Star Tennis, is pursuing his long-held dream of opening a tennis facility for his rapidly expanding business. Five Star Tennis is building a 40,000-square-foot indoor tennis facility in Plainfield near 119th Street and Normantown Road. A grand opening is scheduled for January 1, 2014.
