Angie Snodgrass chosen Outstanding Senior Woman

Theatre major Angie Snodgrass is named the College’s Outstanding Senior Woman, the highest award presented to a female member of the Class of 2011.

June 3, 2011—Angie Snodgrass, a North Central College senior majoring in theatre, was named the College’s Outstanding Senior Woman, the highest award presented to a member of the Class of 2011.

A Naperville resident and formerly of Byron, Ill., she is the daughter of Jeffery and Cathy Huber of Naperville and a graduate of Byron High School.

The Outstanding Senior Woman award was presented in May at North Central’s Honors Convocation, an annual spring event that recognizes student excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.

North Central seniors who are majoring in theatre will stage, direct, choreograph and present the classic romantic comedy “The Wedding Singer” March 3-6.

Tommy Rivera-Vega ’11 has landed the part of Rum Tum Tugger in a professional production of “Cats” opening Nov. 21 in Chicago’s Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre.

North Central College senior Tommy Rivera-Vega has landed the key part of Rum Tum Tugger in a professional production of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s “Cats” in the award-winning Theo Ubique Cabaret Theatre at Chicago’s No Exit Café. The show runs Nov. 21-Jan. 2.

North Central is one of the first colleges in the nation to present “The Phantom of the Opera,” featuring student actors in six performances Nov. 4-7. Production rights for the show recently became available and director Brian Lynch seized the opportunity to showcase student talent. Tune in to WERV-FM 95.9 "The River" before 9 a.m. today, Monday, Aug. 30, to hear Fine Arts Director Brian Lynch talk about the upcoming Sesquicentennial Fine Arts Season. Brian will be on the Scott Mackay in the Morning program as it broadcasts live from Tassos restaurant in downtown Naperville. Brian will talk about some of the artists performing this season, which features the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Leann Rimes, Blues Traveler, Frankie Valli and much more.
