Ramona M. Wis, Mimi Rolland Professor in the Fine Arts, professor and chair of music, presented a workshop to an international audience of artistic directors during the Sister Singers Network conference in Chicago in July. Her session was titled “Influence Changes Everything: How Conductors Can Create Momentum and Achieve Success (and still sleep at night).” More recently, Wis facilitated a workshop with the K-12 music educators of Indian Prairie School District 204. Tune in to WERV-FM 95.9 "The River" before 9 a.m. today, Monday, Aug. 30, to hear Fine Arts Director Brian Lynch talk about the upcoming Sesquicentennial Fine Arts Season. Brian will be on the Scott Mackay in the Morning program as it broadcasts live from Tassos restaurant in downtown Naperville. Brian will talk about some of the artists performing this season, which features the Chicago Symphony Orchestra, Leann Rimes, Blues Traveler, Frankie Valli and much more.

Eight North Central College faculty members, known internationally for their work as jazz performers and recording artists, will perform a concert March 12.

Feb. 12, 2010--Eight North Central College faculty members, known internationally for their work as jazz performers and recording artists, will perform a concert March 12. Their performance will feature arrangements, original compositions and various musical configurations, including the duet, trio, quartet and entire ensemble.

Vocalist Janice Borla kicks off 2010 Jazz Faculty Concert Series Jan. 13

The third Jazz Faculty Concert Series will feature jazz vocalist Janice Borla with pianist Frank Caruso, bassist Larry Kohut and drummer Jack Mouse.

North Central College will feature jazz vocalist Janice Borla in the third performance of the Jazz Faculty Concert Series on Wednesday, Jan. 13. Joining her will be guitarist John McLean, pianist Frank Caruso, bassist Larry Kohut and drummer Jack Mouse.
