College hosts annual day of service May 7

For the fifth year, North Central is rallying its students, faculty, staff and hundreds of community volunteers to participate at Intersection day of service.

April 29, 2011—For the fifth year, North Central College is rallying families, church groups, businesses and other volunteers, including the College’s students, faculty and staff to participate at Intersection. Volunteers will give one day of service on Saturday, May 7, to build, clean, landscape, work and play to help others and make a difference in our communities.

For the third year during D-Term, students travel to Titanyen, Haiti, Dec. 1-12, to work with Mission of Hope, tackling work projects, serving in the medical clinic and reaching out to children in the organization’s orphanage, school and church. Assistant Director of Ministry and Service Whitney Roberts ’08 will lead nine students.



Faculty select Steve Oliveri as 2010 Lincoln Laureate

Interactive media studies and broadcast communication major Steve Oliveri named Lincoln Laureate for his excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities.

Nov. 8, 2010—Steve Oliveri of Crystal Lake, Ill., has been named North Central College’s 2010 Lincoln Laureate, an annual award that honors outstanding seniors at four-year degree-granting institutions in Illinois. North Central faculty selected Oliveri as the College’s top senior for his excellence in curricular and co-curricular activities.
