Students and biology faculty present posters at national research conference

Jennifer Sallee, North Central College assistant professor of biology, and two students gave presentations at the 56th Annual Drosophila Research Conference hosted by the Genetics Society of America held March 4-8 in Chicago.

Sallee’s research group uses Drosophila melanogaster, fruit flies, to study how cells change their shape during embryogenesis. Currently, they are studying the formation of small hair-like structures called denticles found on the embryo’s epidermal cells.

New faculty members begin academic year at North Central College

North Central College appoints five tenure-track faculty members in the sciences, theatre, economics and mathematics for 2013-2014 academic year.

North Central College has appointed new tenure-track faculty members for the 2013-2014 academic year, which begins Sept. 16.

The five new full-time, tenure-track faculty members are:
