On the topic of tuition costs, Wilde points out that financial aid support has skyrocketed in recent years, outpacing tuition increases in some cases: "In reality, though, at most colleges, the official price has no more relation to what you really pay than does the sticker price on a used car."

Formerly the College’s dean of students, Ireland is now sharing his 25 years of experience by teaching graduate-level classes and mentoring graduate assistants. Most of the students in his fall term class are specializing in the new higher education leadership track within the master of leadership studies program.

North Central College has been approved for continued accreditation by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Assoc. of Colleges and Schools Board.

Sept. 20, 2010—The Board of Trustees of the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association of Colleges and Schools has approved the continued accreditation of North Central College, with the next comprehensive evaluation by the commission scheduled for a decade from now.
