Students present team-building sessions to local educators

North Central College students studying physical and health education present to K-12 educators at DuPage Regional Office of Education County Institute Day.

Six North Central College students studying physical and health education were invited to present at the DuPage Regional Office of Education County Institute Day held at Naperville North High School on March 1. The students presented to K-12 educators as part of the Physical Education, Health Education and Driver Education DuPage County Institute sessions.

North Central College will host a symposium on Global and Environmental Health, featuring two keynote speakers with expertise on the subject—Augustine Afullo, Ph.D., and Christopher ‘Sola Olopade, M.D.—and sessions led by College faculty and students on Feb. 19.

Tammy S. Wynard, North Central College visiting instructor of health and physical education and coordinator of health education, presented twice at the annual American School Health Association conference in San Antonio, Texas, Oct. 10-13. The conference brought together professionals working in higher education, K-12 schools, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, as well as pre-service teachers and school nurses.
