Cardinals score big in first playoff round

The football team scored on its first nine possessions, ending with 612 yards in a dominating 57-7 victory over St. Norbert College in its first playoff round.

The football team scored on its first nine possessions, ending with 612 yards in a dominating 57-7 victory over St. Norbert College in the first-round Division III playoff game Nov. 20. The Cardinals meet Ohio Northern at home Saturday, Nov. 27, in their second round.

In Saturday’s dominating 28-6 win against Wheaton College, the Cardinals won the Little Brass Bell for the third straight year, a bid to the NCAA championships, and clinched at least a share of the CCIW crown (the team has a final conference game Nov. 13). Also, head coach John Thorne achieved the College’s all-time record of most wins, 75-21.
