Scott Drucker and RJ McNichols presented “Breaking Into the Film Biz,” in the Harold and Eva White Activities Center on campus. Their talk and Q&A was directed toward young filmmakers, students of interactive media and fans of contemporary documentary film with a community and social conscience.

Sigma Tau Delta students, faculty host Victorian Feast

English majors, minors and faculty gathered in the A.A. Smith House for their annual Victorian Feast, hosted by the Sigma Tau Delta English honor society.

English majors, minors and faculty gathered Nov. 8 in the A.A. Smith House for a Victorian Feast, sponsored by Sigma Tau Delta, the English honor society. This annual tradition offers those in the department a chance to gather and celebrate Thanksgiving and the holiday season while dressed as their favorite literary character (photo, left). It is an opportunity for the department to form a community outside the classroom and enjoy a delicious meal.

Callie Rezin earns Sophomore Scholar-Athlete Award

English major Callie Rezin received the Sophomore Scholar-Athlete Award for highest GPA during the 2013 Honors Convocation at North Central College.

Callie Rezin, daughter of Daniel and Tami Rezin of Rockford, Ill., was awarded the Sophomore Scholar-Athlete Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College. The award recognizes the student-athlete in each class with the highest grade-point average.

A sophomore, Callie competes on the women’s basketball team and is majoring in English literature at North Central College. Her name has regularly appeared on the Dean’s List. She is a graduate of Rockford Lutheran High School.
