Eric Stuedemann M ’07

Eric Stuedemann M ’07 is the offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Aurora University. He also has some Division I coaching experience with stints at the University of Tennessee Martin and Mississippi State University. As a student-athlete at North Central, Stuedemann was an All-American wide receiver, a two-time offensive MVP, a two-time team MVP, a team captain, a two-time all-conference selection, a two-time All-North Region selection and a Don Hansen Football Gazette All-American.

Brandon Sheridan, North Central College assistant professor of economics, coauthored an article for new economics instructors in the Southern Economic Journal.

Brandon Sheridan, North Central College assistant professor of economics, coauthored an article in the January 2014 issue of Southern Economic Journal, which is a general-interest economics journal and also the eighth oldest American academic journal in the economic profession. His coauthors are Dr. Jennifer Imazeki of San Diego State University and Dr. Gail Hoyt of the University of Kentucky.

Natália Bracarense, North Central College assistant professor of economics, presented two papers at the European Society of the History of Economic Thought conference held Nov. 20-22 in Medellin, Colombia. She was awarded a travel grant to present one of her papers, titled “Raúl Prebisch’s Core and Periphery Analysis: An Evolution Away from a Dichotomous View.”

Diane Bruce Anstine—North Central College’s Mary Schneller Rosar Professor of Economics, associate professor of economics, and chair of the Division of Economics and Business—presented a paper titled “What determines attendance at women’s college basketball games? Is men’s basketball a substitute or complement to the women’s program?” at the International Academy of Business and Economics conference in Las Vegas Oct. 13-15.

North Central College appointed five new tenure-track faculty members for the 2013-2014 academic year, which begins Sept. 16. Among those new faculty are Assistant Professor of Economics Natalia Bracarense.  

Jordan Pilgrim earns Outstanding Major in Actuarial Science Award

Jordan Pilgrim received the Outstanding Major in Actuarial Science Award during the 2013 Honors Convocation at North Central College.

Jordan Pilgrim, son of David and Naddene Pilgrim of Fairbury, Ill., was awarded the Outstanding Major in Actuarial Science Award during Honors Day May 14 at North Central College.

A junior, Jordan has a triple major in actuarial science, economics and finance at North Central College. He is a graduate of Prairie Central High School.

Doh-Khul Kim, North Central College associate professor of economics and finance, co-authored a paper titled “The Effectiveness of Commodities in Hedging Inflation—Is It Still Valid During Low Inflationary Period?” which was published in the fall/winter edition of the Journal of Business and Economic Perspectives. His co-author is North Central graduate Eric McKee ’12, who triple-majored in actuarial science, finance and classical civilization.
