Ann Durkin Keating, North Central College Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, will appear, give lecture about her new book on CSPAN-3 Oct. 13.

Ann Durkin Keating, North Central College Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, will appear on CSPAN-3 at 9:45 a.m. (CDT) Saturday, Oct. 13. She will give a lecture and Q&A for approximately one hour about her newest book, “Rising up from Indian Country: The Battle of Fort Dearborn and the Birth of Chicago.” Her lecture was prerecorded with an audience at the Niles Public Library on Sept. 12.

Ann Durkin Keating, North Central College Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, has authored a new book, titled “Rising up from Indian Country: The Battle of Fort Dearborn and the Birth of Chicago,” published by the University of Chicago Press. The book’s release coincides with the Aug. 15, 2012, bicentennial of the Battle of Fort Dearborn.

Keating is moderator at UIC conference

Ann Durkin Keating, Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, moderated a session on architecture and class at Working Class Studies Association meeting.

Ann Durkin Keating, Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, participated in the 2011 Conference of the Working Class Studies Association June 22-25 at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The multi-day event explored American working class history and culture.
