Nine faculty receive tenure, promotions

The North Central College Board of Trustees grants tenure, approves promotions to faculty members effective with the start of the 2014-2015 academic year.

At its May 2014 meeting, the North Central College Board of Trustees granted tenure and approved promotions to several faculty members effective with the start of the 2014-2015 academic year in September. These faculty are:

Diane Anstine, Ph.D., was promoted to professor of economics

Michael de Brauw, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of classics

Shereen Ilahi, Ph.D., was granted tenure and promoted to associate professor of history

Wendy Koenig, Ph.D., was granted tenure

College announces three new faculty recipients of endowed chairs

Diane Anstine holds new endowed chair in economics, Perry Hamalis holds new chair in religion, and Brian Hanlon is second chair holder in entrepreneurship.

June 24, 2011—North Central College recently named three new faculty recipients of endowed chairs. They are

•    Diane Anstine, Mary Schneller Rosar Professor of Economics
•    Perry Hamalis, Cecelia Schneller Mueller Professor of Religion
•    Brian Hanlon, Coleman Foundation Professor of Entrepreneurship

Diane Anstine named first holder of economics endowed chair

Diane Anstine, associate professor and chair of economics, was named the first holder of the Mary Schneller Rosar Professor of Economics endowed chair.

June 24, 2011—North Central College recently announced that Diane Anstine, associate professor and chair of economics, was named the first holder of the Mary Schneller Rosar Professor of Economics endowed chair.

The new endowed chair was made possible by the generosity of alumnae Mary Schneller Rosar, Class of 1933, and her sister Cecelia Schneller Mueller, Class of 1927.

Diane Anstine is New Ruge Fellow

During the faculty meeting in November, R. Devadoss Pandian, vice president for academic affairs and dean of faculty, named Associate Professor and Chair of Economics Diane Anstine (right) a Ruge Fellow in recognition of her excellence in teaching.

The Ruge Fellows program is designed to recognize, celebrate and reward faculty for their contributions to the teaching and learning environment at North Central College. Honorees are selected after a rigorous application and review process.
