Alec Phillipp ’14, Kerby Kniss ’15 begin John Marshall Law School internships this fall

North Central College prelaw students Kerby Kniss and Alec Phillipp are accepted to The John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Undergraduate Internship Program.

North Central College prelaw students Kerby Kniss ’15 and Alec Phillipp ’14 will learn about fair housing law firsthand when they begin internships this fall in Chicago. Both have been accepted to The John Marshall Law School Fair Housing Undergraduate Internship Program.

Kniss of Lanark, Ill., is majoring in political science with a minor in conflict resolution. Phillipp of Plainfield is majoring in sociology/criminal justice with a minor in political science.

Moussetis, Cavenagh, Hanlon present paper on strategic business leadership

North Central College faculty Robert Moussetis, Tom Cavenagh and Brian Hanlon presented paper that won Leadership and Leading Track Award at conference.

North Cental College faculty members—Robert Moussetis, associate professor of international business and chair of management and marketing/Bus; Thomas Cavenagh, Schneller Sisters Professor of Leadership, Ethics and Values, professor of business law and conflict resolution, director of leadership, ethics and values, and coordinator of master of leadership studies program; and Brian Hanlon, Coleman Foundation Professor of Entrepreneurship and assistant professor of marketing—presented an award-winning paper at international conference.

Service, study abroad inspire student’s research on immigration reform

Jenna Slack ’12, Spanish major, leadership and conflict resolution minors

North Central College senior Jenna Slack presents research at national conference that supports using mediation to resolve immigration conflict, direct policy.

Senior Jenna Slack from Carol Stream, Ill., is among 45 students from North Central College whose research project was accepted for presentation at a leading national conference on undergraduate research.

Her research topic—using mediation to examine and resolve illegal migration issues—evolved after a study abroad experience her sophomore year led to subsequent volunteer work.
