North Central College students showcase talent in 2014 Senior Art Show

Senior Art Show features paintings, drawings, sculpture, ceramics, photography and more by 13 graduating seniors, May 12-June 13, in two galleries.

Artwork by 13 North Central College art students will be featured in the annual Senior Art Show, May 12 through June 13. The 2014 Senior Art Show features a diverse body of work, ranging from paintings, drawings, sculpture and ceramics to photography, cutouts and mixed media.

North Central College presents “Fairy Tales and Realities: An Exploration into Social Distortions,” a student art exhibit March 6-31.

North Central College presents “Fairy Tales and Realities: An Exploration into Social Distortions,” featuring the artwork of senior studio art majors Ariel Hodge and Samantha Johnson.  

Their free exhibit will showcase drawings, ceramics, cutouts and sculpture March 6-31 in the College’s Meiley-Swallow Hall Gallery, 31 S. Ellsworth St. The public is invited to meet the artists during a reception from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, March 7, in the gallery. Light refreshments will be served.

Artwork of two North Central College students is featured in a spring exhibit titled “Altered Words.”  

“Altered Words” includes paintings, ink drawings, ceramics and mixed media artwork created by senior Kate Pauley and junior Ariel Hodge. The free exhibit runs March 13 through April 4 in the College’s Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St. An artist reception will be held from 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday, March 28; complimentary refreshments will be served.
