The book, “North Central College: 150 Years. A Promising Start.” traces the College’s history from the founders who established the school in 1861 through present day.

North Central to premiere second part of documentary about 150-year history

North Central College on Sept. 28 will premiere of the second part of a documentary produced with NCTV17 that chronicles the College’s 150-year history.

North Central College invites the public to the free premiere Sept. 28 of the second part of a documentary series produced with Naperville Community Television that chronicles the College’s 150-year history.

“The Growth of a College” is the second of the five-part documentary series “A Promising Start,” which commemorates the College’s Sesquicentennial. “The Growth of a College” will premiere at 7 p.m. Wednesday, Sept. 28, in Madden Theatre at the Fine Arts Center, 171 E. Chicago Ave. Complimentary refreshments will be served.

Keating is moderator at UIC conference

Ann Durkin Keating, Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, moderated a session on architecture and class at Working Class Studies Association meeting.

Ann Durkin Keating, Dr. C. Frederick Toenniges Professor of History, participated in the 2011 Conference of the Working Class Studies Association June 22-25 at the University of Illinois-Chicago. The multi-day event explored American working class history and culture.
