June 21, 2012—North Central College’s Summer Musical Theatre presents the rarely performed Gilbert and Sullivan farcical operetta “Princess Ida” July 10-15.

Five performances will be staged at 7:30 p.m. July 10-14 and at 2 p.m. July 15 in North Central’s theatre at Meiley-Swallow Hall, 31 S. Ellsworth St., Naperville. May 22, 2012—Lauren Smith of Byron was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Theatre Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Smith is a senior majoring in theatre and psychology. She is the daughter of Kathryn Smith and the late Randy Smith and is a graduate of Byron High School.

Schmidt is a senior majoring in theatre and English writing at North Central College. She is the daughter of Bradley and Mary Schmidt and is a 2008 graduate of Mascoutah High School.

Susie Gawriluk '73

Susie Gawriluk is an account executive for Journal Community Publishing Group, selling advertising for three magazines and websites: Silent Sports, Wisconsin Trails and Wisconsin Journeys. She founded Denim and Dessert Theatre in Presque Isle, WI, in 2004 and continues to serve as its artistic director for three annual shows. She married for the first time in September 2011, to Tom Preston, “under a beautiful tent with lanterns and flowers, fresh from friends’ gardens, and a bonfire afterward.” She lives in Arbor Vitae, WI, and may be reached at sgawriluk1@gmail.com.

Carolyn Wroblewski Turner '89

Carolyn Wroblewski Turner was awarded the Carl Vacketta Administrative Excellence Award for her professional contributions as assistant dean for strategic initiatives to the University of Illinois College of Law in 2011. She works with senior administrators on issues and projects related to strategic communications, external engagement, long-range planning, alumni relations, donor stewardship, gift strategy and the college’s periodic reaccreditation process. She oversees the communications and special events staff and serves on various committees and working groups.
