Cancer researcher returns to North Central to guest lecture science courses

Zach Pratt, a 2005 alumnus who recently completed his doctorate in cancer biology, returned to North Central to guest lecture some biology courses.

Zach Pratt hopes to combine his passion for scientific research with his knack for teaching.

Since earning his bachelor’s degree in biochemistry from North Central in 2005, Pratt has completed his doctorate in cancer biology at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. He returned to North Central in February 2011 to guest lecture some biology courses, using bacteria to teach a lesson in evolution.

Medical mission inspires North Central pre-health majors

Four North Central College pre-health majors journey to Honduras for a medical mission.

Morgan Wichman ’14 always wanted to travel to Honduras with an optometrist from her hometown of Freeport, IL, for a medical mission. She decided this was the year to take a week in February for the mission—if she could find friends to travel with. It didn’t take long for three North Central friends to say “I’m in” and make plans for the World Gospel Outreach-sponsored trip.

Survey finds North Central College graduates among highest income-earners

Graduates of North Central College earn more income over their lifetimes than peers who graduate from most comparable schools, a new survey finds.

North Central College ranks among the top 15 percent of private, nonprofit schools in the 2011-2012 survey by Payscale.com. The mid-career median salary for North Central College graduates is $81,300, ranking No. 39 out of 303 schools in the private, nonprofit category.

U.S. News & World Report ranks North Central College among America’s Best Colleges

U.S. News & World Report magazine ranks North Central College among America’s Best Colleges for 2013.

North Central College is ranked No. 13 in the Midwest in the Regional Universities category—schools that offer a full range of undergraduate and master’s degrees. North Central College was ranked No. 23 among Midwest Regional Universities for 2012.
