Moran earns prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship

North Central College student Peggy Moran has earned a prestigious Jack Kent Cooke Foundation scholarship.

Author and entrepreneur Peggy Moran knows the exact moment that triggered her decision to resume her education. It was in 2008, when her college-aged daughter was hospitalized with a life-threatening condition.

“That changed the way I view the present tense,” Moran says. “Everything suddenly became more meaningful, and time became of the essence in a different way.”

Record number of students to present at national research conference

A record 38 students from various academic areas will represent North Central at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research this spring.

Mike Reeb released an album of original music titled “Breaking” on September 1. The songs are available on iTunes or for free at mikereeb.com. In addition to writing the songs, he played drums, acoustic guitar, electric guitar, bass, keyboard and tambourine for the album.

The couple aims to offer customers fashionable jewelry, bridging the gap between costume and high-end jewelry. Two members of North Central’s Mock Trial team were recognized at the University of St. Francis Mock Trial Midwest Challenge Part V Tournament Dec. 4-5. Joshua Bailey ’11, majoring in political science and English writing, earned awards for Outstanding Attorney and Outstanding Witness—a notable achievement because students are rarely recognized for exceptional performance in both roles.

Students accepted into this program earn both a bachelor’s degree—in any discipline—and the master of leadership studies with the completion of 141 credit hours.
