May 11, 2010—Four North Central College sophomores recently met two U.S. Supreme Court justices as part of their studies in Washington, D.C.

The four met justices Ruth Bader Ginsburg and Sonia M. Sotomayor while they were conducting interdisciplinary research about oral arguments presented before the Supreme Court.

College premieres original family musical "Lunacy" May 20-23

"Lunacy" is an original, never-before-seen musical, premiering at North Central College May 20-23.

May 3, 2010--"Lunacy" is an original, never-before-seen musical, premiering at North Central College May 20-23. The show features actors, ages 8 and up, from the community and an up-and-coming playwright and composer. Based on the classic works of science fiction author Jules Verne, "Lunacy" is the funny, family-friendly tale of a space race that never was.

Created by writer Matt Boresi and composer Jonathon Lynch, "Lunacy" is directed by Naperville resident Susan Craig-Olsen.

Tanner Smale ’12 was a finalist in the first-ever Chicago NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) Musical Theater Contest. Held March 13 in Evanston, the contest included more than 40 musical theatre students from the Chicago area who competed in song and dance. Smale is majoring in musical theatre with a minor in dance and is a student of Paul Grizzell, lecturer of music.

North Central College students will present "Pippin," a hip, tongue-in-cheek fairy tale.

North Central College students will present "Pippin," a hip, tongue-in-cheek fairy tale and winner of 11 Tony Awards by Oscar-winning composer/lyricist Stephen Schwartz. Four performances will be staged at 7:30 p.m. March 4, 5 and 6, and at 2 p.m. March 7 in Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E. Benton Ave., Naperville. Tickets are $15/adult and $10/students and senior citizens; call the North Central College Box Office at 630-637-SHOW (7469). The story of "Pippin" takes place once upon a time, when a young prince Pippin longs to discover the secret of true happiness and fulfillment.

Jan. 22, 2010--North Central College students will present a four-performance run of "Tell Me Truly," an exciting, guitar-driven original musical written by senior Chad Comello and junior Taylor Martin.
