North Central College on March 9 will host Chords for Kids, the seventh annual free concert for children with autism and their families.

Erin Minogue '12

Erin Minogue is an elementary music teacher and band director for the Churchill Elementary School in Schaumburg District 54. She teaches elementary music, including two classes of kindergarten pupils with autism, and beginning band. She says the most rewarding part of her job is seeing how her students’ daily lives are affected by music. Minogue resides in Gilberts, IL.

Mark Myers '01

Mark Myers is the choir director at Waubonsie Valley High School in Aurora, IL. Myers’ dedication to kids and his passion for teaching choral music has won him the respect of students, parents and professional peers. In spring 2012 he was honored with the National FAME Aspire Award, a vocal Vanguard Award based on nominations from fellow members of the Academy of Show Choir Professionals from around the country. Myers directs the school’s seven choral groups and has taken his students to competitions and festivals at the Opera House in Sydney, Australia, St.

North Central College students perform classic musical “Kiss Me, Kate”

North Central College students will perform Cole Porter’s Tony Award-winning musical “Kiss Me, Kate” Nov. 8-11.

Six performances will be staged at 8 p.m. Nov. 8, at 7:30 p.m. Nov. 9-11 and at 2 p.m. Nov. 10-11 in North Central’s Pfeiffer Hall, 310 E.
