Students present at leadership conference

Two North Central College students presented at the National Collegiate Leadership Conference Feb. 18-20 at the University of Arizona.

“The 6 E’s to Successful Leadership Development” was presented by Jennifer Baron, a senior Spanish major from Justice, and Megan Holland a senior mathematics/psychology double major from Midlothian.

Record number of students to present at national research conference

A record 38 students from various academic areas will represent North Central at the National Conference on Undergraduate Research this spring.

North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 16, 2010)—North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

Students accepted into this program earn both a bachelor’s degree—in any discipline—and the master of leadership studies with the completion of 141 credit hours.

China's Consul General to Chicago to speak April 7

North Central College welcomes Huang Ping, the Consul General of China to Chicago, to speak on its Naperville campus Wednesday, April 7.

North Central College welcomes Mr. Huang Ping, the Consul General of the People's Republic of China to Chicago, to speak on its Naperville campus Wednesday, April 7, at 7:30 p.m. in the College's Koten Chapel at Kiekhofer Hall, 329 E. School St.

He will discuss the state of China today. His talk is free and open to the public.

Mock Trial team advances to national tournament

North Central College’s Mock Trial team will compete in the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) national tournament March 12-14 in Waukegan.

Feb. 22, 2010—Students from North Central College’s Mock Trial team will sharpen their critical thinking and public speaking skills and knowledge of legal practices by competing in the American Mock Trial Association (AMTA) national tournament March 12-14 in Waukegan. Top finishers from the opening round advance to the National Championship Tournament April 16-18 in Memphis, Tenn.

Leadership, Ethics & Values: An Enduring Mission

It has been 20 years since North Central College President Gael Swing announced a “distinctive new program,” designed to “help train not only tomorrow’s leaders, but to help present-day decision-makers as well.” He called it “Leadership, Ethics and Values” (LEV), noting that “the program may be new, but the concept is an outgrowth of our heritage and our mission—to provide a liberal arts education designed to prepare students to live free, ethically responsible and intellectually rewarding lives.”
