North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

NAPERVILLE, Ill. (Nov. 16, 2010)—North Central College is offering a new option to earn both a bachelor’s degree and a master of leadership studies degree in just five years.

Students accepted into this program earn both a bachelor’s degree—in any discipline—and the master of leadership studies with the completion of 141 credit hours.

Sidra already knew she wanted to study international environmental issues and political science when she stumbled upon the history of ideas minor. "When I was a freshman College Scholar I was placed in a history of ideas course called 'Greek and Hebrew Thought,'" she says. "I liked it so much! I enjoy studying primary texts instead of textbooks, and really great discussions." Sidra decided to make history of ideas her minor to complement her interest in envrironmental justice issues. She plans to attend graduate school in international relations at the University of Chicago and ultimately wants to teach. "I learned how to read with depth and breadth and my career has been influenced by how passionate my professors are about what they’re doing," she says.

North Central College junior Timothy Whitney will present a series of digital photographs in a solo exhibit titled "Toes." His work explores the peculiarities of peoples' toes.

The free exhibit runs April 4 through May 6 at the College's Oesterle Library Gallery, 320 E. School St., Naperville. Whitney will greet visitors during a reception from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 7.
