“A Promising Start: Excellence in Scholarship” on Sept. 4 featured panel discussions, poster presentations and sessions during which nearly 40 faculty members shared stories and findings of their independent scholarly work.

The Princeton Review has once again named North Central College a Best Midwestern College in its annual survey of the nation’s best colleges.

North Central College is among a select group of institutions nationwide highlighted by The Princeton Review in “The Best 377 Colleges, 2013 Edition.”

Only about 15 percent of America’s 2,500 four-year colleges are profiled in the book, which is based on the Princeton Review’s surveys of 122,000 college students. The Princeton Review began surveying college students and publishing its findings in 1992.

May 21, 2012—Amy Olson of Sycamore was awarded the 2012 Outstanding Major in Writing Award during Honors Day May 15 at North Central College.

Olson is a senior majoring in English writing and English literature with a minor in secondary education at North Central College. She is the daughter of Jane Olson and is a 2008 graduate of Sycamore High School.

Schmidt is a senior majoring in theatre and English writing at North Central College. She is the daughter of Bradley and Mary Schmidt and is a 2008 graduate of Mascoutah High School.
