Joseph Gaza M ’12

Joseph Gaza M ’12 is director of baseball operations at The Warner Companies baseball agency. Previous to this position, he started his own baseball agency called AllStarInc Baseball. Gaza grew the firm and it merged with The Warner Companies baseball agency. He is certified by the Major League Baseball Players Association as a player agent. Gaza’s duties as a baseball agent include draft advisement, contract negotiations, arbitration representation, marketing and public relations services, sponsorship and endorsement negotiation.

Total enrollment stands at 3,048 undergraduate and graduate students, eclipsing the 3,000 mark for the second straight year. The College welcomed 852 new full-time undergraduate students. Enrollment this fall includes a record number of international students and increased representation of out-of-state students and veterans.

New North Central College students discover possibilities during Orientation

Students study abroad, serve others and more during D-Term

Study abroad courses, service trips, business and leadership ventures, and sport contest are among the many options for student exploration during D-Term.

D-Term is North Central College’s three-week period between Thanksgiving and Christmas when fall term and finals are over. Students are free to study abroad and engage in service, ongoing business projects, internships, independent research and life-enriching experiences.

Among the opportunities in 2012 are seven study abroad trips, including a new one for graduate students, with some 155 students and 14 faculty and staff participating. Each trip is a three-credit course with coursework prior to, during and after each trip.

North Central College alumni and staff were guest speakers at the Echelon Leadership Summit, a one-day, community-driven leadership event held at the Northern Illinois University Naperville campus on Oct. 31. The leadership summit focused on six different tracks of interest—new leaders, entrepreneurs, nonprofits, organizations and more—with the goal of exploring new approaches to becoming effective leaders in today’s fast-paced world.
