Alexandria Sarti

Alex is thrilled about the range of experiences she's gained as an athletic training major. "Even though I got an amazing, well-rounded education, I also had phenomenal experiences working alongside physicians, in high schools and clinics, and with sports teams and athletic trainers."

Each term, she worked with a different sport. Her favorite part was the one-on-one relationships with athletic trainers and athletes across all teams. Her clinical experiences included practices and home contests and travel with the football team. Alex also worked with a general practice physical and orthopedic surgeon in their offices and saw firsthand how they work with patients.

All of these experiences, says Alex, helped her prepare for and pass the Board of Certification (BOC) Exam and confirmed her interest in pursuing a doctorate in physical therapy.

"I knew I loved athletic training and realized it was a strong base for further study." She was accepted to the doctoral program in physical therapy at Governors State University.
