Web and Internet Foundation Requirements
Master of science degree candidates in Web and Internet Applications must meet the following foundation requirements:
- Ability to create object-orientated programs in Java, C++ or C#
- Basic knowledge of computer architecture and computer systems organization
- Basic understanding of formal logic and its application to computer science
- Technical writing proficiency
Some or all of the foundation requirements can be waived if met by previous studies or work experience. Students lacking this background can acquire it in either of two ways:
Option A: Complete CSC 500 Foundational Concepts of Computer Science with a grade of B or better. This course is offered each summer, and meets two nights a week over a 8-week term. In addition to class meetings, students in CSC 500 spend on average 15-20 hours per week completing assignments.
Option B: Complete the following courses:
CSC 160 Computer Science I
CSC 161 Computer Science II
CSC 220 Computer Systems Concepts
CSC 230 Discrete Structures I
