How to Apply to the ELI

Requirements for Admission:

  • You must be at least 17 years of age
  • You must have successfully completed high school/secondary school

Application Checklist:
In order to apply to the English Language Institute, students must submit the following items (additional documentation may be requested):

All Applicants:

____ Completed and signed application form
____  Copy of your passport identification page (include copies of your visa page and I-94 card if you are already in the U.S.)
____  The $100 application fee can be paid by:
  *Check made out to North Central College drawn on a U.S. or U.S-affiliate bank     OR
  *Credit card (include a completed Credit Card Payment Authorization Form)

All Students Requiring an I-20 for F-1 Student Visa Status:

Proof of Financial Support Students must demonstrate funding for the terms they plan to attend. The program cost is estimated at $7,995 per term. Students who plan to attend more than two terms must demonstrate funding for at least three academic terms, which is estimated at $23,985.

F-1 Students Transferring from a U.S. Institution Must Also Submit:

____  A Transfer Verification Form completed by your current international student advisor
____ A copy of your current I-20 Form

Estimated Program Costs for I-20
Students entering the English Language Institute in Fall 2014 must demonstrate $23,985 for the 2014-2015 academic year. I-20 issuance based on the cost estimates below:

*Room costs vary based on residence hall assigned between $2,049 per term and $2,372 per term. Meal plans (Board) cost $952 per term for Fall, Winter and Spring Terms.

Students who do not already have U.S. health insurance must enroll in a health plan underwritten by HTH International specifically for international students enrolled at North Central College at a cost of approximately $94/month.
