Situated in the heart of Beijing's university district, Beijing Language and Culture University (BLCU) is the nation's leading institution for language instruction. Students in this program take 9 credits of intensive Chinese and 3 credits in contemporary Chinese society and culture. In addition, they can choose to either, 1) study film, economic development or Chinese foreign policy, or 2) engage in an internship. Company site visits, study tours and community outreach activities are also included. Students live in a new residence hall where they are paired with Chinese graduate students whose major is teaching Chinese as a foreign language. A full schedule of excursions, events, lectures and field study trips is included. No prior knowledge of Chinese is required. .

Eligibility Requirements
Junior or Senior standing; GPA 3.0 preferred with substantial coursework in major.
Academic Credit
15 credits.
Housing and Meals
Students live in double rooms in a campus residence hall. Meals not included.
Estimated Costs
Students pay tuition plus $3000 program fee.
