Founded in 1941, Beijing Foreign Studies University (BFSU) was the first institution of higher learning in China to specialize in foreign language studies. BFSU is located in the Haidian District in the west suburbs of Beijing and has eight departments: English, German, French, Japanese, Spanish, Arabic, East European Languages, and Asian/African languages. Students may enroll in classes taught in Chinese and English.
Eligibility Requirements
Junior or Senior standing; GPA 3.0 preferred. Minimum of one year of college level Chinese required.
Academic Credit
Varies by course load and length of stay; usually 12 credits per semester.
