NCUR Pre-Meetings
Who: Students who have been selected to present at NCUR

Starbucks and Dove Bars Advising Session
Who: All College Scholars and honors faculty

What: Get a jump on scheduling classes for 2013-2014 academic year. We will have break out groups by year where you can get advice from more advanced College Scholars, faculty and staff.

Richter Info Session
Who: Any student interested in applying for a Richter Grant
When: Monday, April 8 at 3pm
Where: Kiekhofer Gathering Room
What: An opportunity to ask questions, hear stories of successful Richter proposals and meet the Richter Committee.
GRE Info Session
Who: Any student interested in taking the GRE to apply for graduate school
When: Tuesday, April 9 at 12:30
Where: Goldspohn 20
What: Learn about the GRE from a representative of its publisher. Topics will include: overview of the GRE revised general test, content and structure, scores and reporting, test preparation, test taking strategies, GRE resources and Q & A.

Frankenstein as Metaphor: Intersections of Literaure, Science and Ethics in the Popular Imagination College Scholars Winter Colloquy

What: An interactive, educational discussion with Dr. Fran Navakas to dive deeper into the well-know story of Frankenstein. The College Scholars Colloquy is an opportunity one evening each term for all College Scholars to gather for dialogue with a guest speaker and each other, about topics with interdisciplinary significance.

Annual Synergy Retreat
Who: All incoming College Scholars
When: Monday, September 3 - Tuesday, September 4, 2012
Where: Reynoldswood Retreat Center Dixon, IL
What: 24 hour retreat includes icebreakers, a team-building course, and overviews of the College Scholars curriculum and related academic programs, meals, a Q & A session, and some "down time" for just getting to know each other without campus distractions.

Honors Program Celebration
Who: Graduating College Scholars who have completed the thesis requirement

What: Celebration champagne toast and dessert with the president, honors faculty, parents, Thesis Directors, and Second Readers. Cording ceremony in Meiley-Swallow to immediately follow.

Happy Hour

Fulbright Information Session

What: Learn more about the prestigious Fulbright U.S. Student Program that allows recent graduates to study, assistant-teach English, or conduct research in over 135 countries.
Early Bird Celebration Dinner
Who: June 2012 graduating Scholars who submitted a substantial thesis draft by March 19
When: Friday, April 20, 6:30 pm
Where: Raffi's on 5th
What: Congratulatory dinner to celebrate students' significant progress on their theses.

Richter Information Session
Who: All North Central College students
When: Wednesday, April 11, 3:30 - 4:30 pm
Where: Kiekhofer Hall Community Gathering Room
What: Learn how to prepare and submit a Richter Grant proposal for funding to conduct research this summer or fall. Committee members will be available to answer your questions.
Dove Bars and Starbucks Advising Session

What: Enjoy snacks with faculty members and fellow College Scholars while learning about College Scholars curriculum requirements before you register for 2012-13 classes. Optional break-out sessions will include first-hand information on studying abroad at the University of Glasgow, and opportunities for prestigious national scholarships.
