Conductor Jeordano Martinez is a graduate of Baylor University and Southern Illinois University, with additional doctoral work at the University of Iowa and Northern Illinois University. He has studied orchestral conducting with Irwin Hoffmann and James Dixon, choral conducting with Don V Moses and Margaret Hillis, and operatic direction with famed Metropolitan Opera star Marjorie Lawrence. Professor Martinez has been on the faculty of North Central College since 1986 and has twice been awarded the Dissinger Award for outstanding teaching. He is a former musical director of the Hinsdale Opera Chorus, Elgin Youth Orchestra, Elgin Summer Music Theater, Miss Illinois State Pageant, and the Liberty-Fremont Choral Society. He has also served as conductor and adjudicator throughout the Midwest and in Canada and Costa Rica. In addition to directing the Concert Choir he also directs the Opera Workshop, musical theatre productions, and the 125-voice Naperville Chorus with which he has twice toured Europe.
